Overview
Ring Style Finder uses the minimum data needed to provide sign-in, personalization, purchase restore, and app reliability. This policy applies to both the mobile app and ringstylefinder.com.
Data We Collect
- Account identity from Sign in with Apple (user ID, and optional name/email if provided).
- Quiz answers, shortlist selections, and placement settings used to personalize results.
- Hand photos and ring reference photos you choose for Custom Try-On previews. Your hand photo and your generated previews are also saved to your private cloud account so your try-on setup and results survive reinstalling the app or switching devices.
- Problem reports you submit about Custom Try-On previews, including the selected reason and app correlation IDs.
- Purchase state and restore metadata for premium access management.
- App analytics events for product performance and flow completion.
- Website analytics events (such as page views and App Store CTA clicks).
What Stays On Device
- Custom Try-On exports are saved locally on your device. Generated previews are also backed up to your private cloud account (see Data We Collect) so they survive reinstalling the app.
- Custom Try-On source photos are uploaded only when you continue from the in-app cloud preview notice.
- Temporary cloud processing files can include the photos you selected and the generated preview file.
- Shared exports leave the app only when you use iOS share actions.
How Data Is Used
- Deliver core app features and keep your account state in sync.
- Restore purchases and enforce purchase entitlement state.
- Create Custom Try-On previews from the hand and ring photos you select.
- Back up your hand photo and generated previews to your private cloud account so your try-on setup and results survive reinstalling the app or switching devices.
- Review reported Custom Try-On quality issues and improve future previews.
- Measure quality and stability to improve the app experience.
Service Providers
- Google cloud services for sign-in, app data hosting, analytics, storage, and Custom Try-On AI processing.
- RevenueCat (purchase entitlement infrastructure).
Cookies and website analytics
- Our website, ringstylefinder.com, uses Google Analytics 4 (provided through Google Firebase) to understand how visitors use the site, such as page views and taps on App Store download links.
- Google Analytics sets first-party cookies and similar identifiers in your browser to measure this traffic. We use it for aggregate analytics only, not for advertising.
- You can control or clear these cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- The mobile app does not use website cookies; app analytics are described above.
Retention and Deletion
- Cloud account data remains until account deletion is requested in-app.
- Your hand photo is stored in your private cloud account (one photo kept at a time) until you remove or replace it in Fit Check, or delete your data.
- Generated Custom Try-On previews are backed up to your private cloud account until you delete them or delete your data.
- Local photos/exports remain on device until you delete them or iOS clears storage.
- Custom Try-On source processing files are retained for up to 7 days for processing, retry, failed-generation credit restoration, and support needs.
- In-app account deletion removes cloud records, cloud photo/preview backups, and local cached app data.
Security
- Authentication relies on Apple Sign In.
- Network requests use HTTPS/TLS.
- Access controls restrict account data to the signed-in user.
